Surviving - and Even Thriving - in Minnesota Nice Discussion

posted Jan 13, 2013, 12:39 PM by Jerilyn Veldof   [ updated Jan 13, 2013, 1:14 PM ]
If you’re from out of state you know the not-so-nice side of Minnesota Nice.  For those of us who’ve transplanted in Minnesota from elsewhere, Minnesota Nice can be one of the most challenging things about living in Minnesota.  Minnesota Nice goes beyond just being reserved and polite and includes an aversion to confrontation, resistance to change, and the dreaded passive-aggressive behavior.  Sound familiar?  Most of us who encounter it need some support.  We’ve created this website to help, but transplants have told us they also want opportunities to get together to discuss their experiences and how to adjust to life in Minnesota.

So, we’re hosting a discussion!  Hear about others experiences with Minnesota Nice, share your own experiences, and most importantly get some tips to survive - and maybe even thrive - in Minnesota Nice.

Day: Wednesday, January 30, 2013
Time: Discussion from 6:00 to 7:00 pm but come at 5:30 if you’d like to buy your dinner at Lunds and meet-up early.
Location: Lunds in Edina – Community Room (above Caribou Coffee)
A free event!

Jerilyn Veldof and Corey Bonnema, the co-creators of the “Surviving and Thriving in Minnesota Nice” website, will be leading the discussion.

Please RSVP here!

Thank you!
